Chonburi Governor Inspects New Year Safety Checkpoints, Urges Life Jacket Use on Trips to Koh Larn
Pattaya, January 1st 2026 - Chonburi Governor Naris Niramaiwong led a team of senior officials on New Year’s Day to inspect road and marine safety checkpoints across Banglamung district, as part of intensified measures to ensure public safety during the 2026 New Year holiday period. Accompanied by Sattahip District Chief Anusak Phiriyom, Pattaya Police Station Superintendent Pol.
Col. Enek Sratongyu, and heads of relevant government agencies, the governor visited key checkpoints and public service points to facilitate travel, enhance safety on land and water, and boost morale among on-duty personnel. The inspection began at the main checkpoint in front of Big C South Pattaya, where officials distributed free motorcycle helmets to members of the public as New Year gifts.
The team then proceeded to marine checkpoints at Bali Hai Pier in Pattaya and Koh Larn Pier. Governor Naris personally reviewed the readiness of passenger ferries and speedboats serving tourists and residents travelling to Koh Larn. He stressed strict enforcement of safety protocols, particularly mandating that all passengers wear life jackets throughout their journey.
Speaking during the visit, Governor Naris extended New Year greetings to Chonburi residents and visitors, discussing coordinated efforts across all sectors to safeguard travel and tourism on both land and sea. Measures have been in place since December 30th, in response to the large influx of tourists to Pattaya and other attractions in the province.
The governor urged the public and tourists to cooperate fully with officials and strictly observe traffic laws. He reiterated the importance of wearing life jackets at all times on ferry crossings between Pattaya and Koh Larn, calling on everyone to contribute to a safe, orderly, and enjoyable New Year holiday in Chonburi.
